Arya Sureshbabu explores the notions of minorness and intimacy in English poetry, drama, and correspondence from the 16th and 17th centuries. Her dissertation project tracks how small details or textual minutiae — ranging from parentheses to similes to stichomythia — create closeness in literary works, thereby elaborating a link between affection and interpretation.
