Robert Sharf (East Asian Languages & Cultures) is a scholar of East Asian Buddhism with a focus on the origins of Zen in medieval China. His current project explores the parallels between metaphysical conundrums that preoccupied medieval Buddhist scholiasts, and issues currently debated in the philosophy of science.
