Shirelle Maya Doughty examines the sexual politics of women's gradual inclusion in the formation of modern Hebrew and Yiddish literatures over the course of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She explores the relationship between rapid changes in marital and sexual norms and women's increased cultural participation.
