Tony Lawson is on the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge. He is organizer of the Cambridge Social Ontology Group and the Cambridge Realist Workshop, and was Executive Director of the Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies for many years. Professor Lawson’s publications include the books Economics and Reality and Reorienting Economics. His views, philosophical in orientation, are much debated in the international academic community, as is evidenced by Edward Fullbrook’s book Ontology and Economics: Tony Lawson and his Critics.
