Eric Karpeles is a painter and the author of Paintings in Proust, an illustrated guide to Marcel Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu. In his lecture, Karpeles will discuss a number of the paintings mentioned in Proust's masterpiece. Texts read by Jane Mickelson. No tickets are necessary for this event.

The lecture will be followed by a musical interlude by April Paik (violin) and Heather Pinkham (piano) featuring passages that inspired the Vinteuil sonata, beginning at 6:30 pm in 125 Morrison Hall.
