Novelist Francine Prose is former President of the PEN American Center and author of over 16 books of fiction, a book on Anne Frank, and the New York Times bestseller Reading Like a Writer. She has been published in the New Yorker, the New York Review of Books, Atlantic Monthly, ARTNews, the New York Times, among others, and she is a contributing editor for Harper’s Magazine. Her latest novel, My New American Life, explores the immigrant experience and the American Dream through the story of Lula, a young Albanian immigrant nanny in post 9/11 New York City. Currently a visiting professor of Literature at Bard College, Prose has also taught at Harvard, the Universities of Utah and Arizona, and the Iowa Writer’s Workshop.
