The Humanities and Changing Conceptions of Work is a three-year, multi-campus research initiative devoted to exploring and assessing the critical historical and contemporary transformations in the meaning and experience of work. Globalization has profoundly impacted not just what work is available but how and where we work, what we think of as work, and what skills the humanities and interpretative social sciences must teach to prepare students for work.

Funded by a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and hosted by the UC Humanities Network, this full day workshop will help prepare graduate students and recent graduates for the work that awaits them in 21st-century global society and includes a hands-on resume workshop and networking opportunities. Experts will answer questions about the human resources screening process, informational interviewing, and offer a hands-on resume workshop. Registration is free and open to all current and recently graduated humanities graduate students.

The UC Humanities Network will provide conference support (round-trip travel and lodging, if applicable) for three graduate students from each UC campus to attend. Deadline to apply for conference support: April 7, 2014.
