Best known for her work on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century painting in Spain, Janis Tomlinson is Director of University Museums at the University of Delaware. Dr. Tomlinson’s publications include Francisco Goya y Lucientes and El Greco to Goya: Painting in Spain, 1561-1828. She has curated exhibitions on Goya at the Museo Del Prado and served as consultant and lecturer for the National Gallery of Art, the Museo Nacional de Arte (Mexico City), the National Gallery (Berlin), and the Frick Collection. She has also served as Director of Exhibitions and Cultural Programs at the National Academy of Sciences and taught as Associate Professor of Art History at Columbia University.
