Through twelve vignettes filmed in four major global cities, Megacities brings to light the lives of individuals who help shape the city and its contradictions. Focusing on Mumbai, New York City, Mexico City, and Moscow, this film portrays the shared dream of a better life —both tantalizingly promised and impeded by the city. Glawogger captures the lives of hustlers, peddlers and entertainers struggling to survive and find pleasure (physical, spiritual, or artistic) in spite of adversity. These seemingly disparate but connected episodes ask, “What do you do to survive in the city?”
