Stan Lai in Conversation with Wen-hsin Yeh
Stan Lai has stretched the boundaries of the theatrical experience in his native Taiwan, in China, and around the world. In a wide-ranging conversation with Professor Wen-hsin Yeh (History), Lai discusses his work, his ideas, and his unique vision.
Stan Lai (Lai Sheng-Chuan) earned his Ph.D. in Dramatic Arts at UC Berkeley in 1983 and is the author of thirty plays and a best-selling book on creativity. He has received Taiwan’s National Arts Award twice and has been inducted into the Chinese Theater Hall of Fame. Lai is a 2013 Avenali Resident Fellow in the Department of Theater, Dance & Performance Studies.
